Climate Cool is a part of the British Council’s global imitative - International Climate Champions (ICC) programme. In March 2007, the British Council launched the Climate Cool campaign in partnership with China Science and Technology Exchange Centre. Since then, a series of projects and activities have been implemented in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chongqing and Hong Kong with a direct and indirect reach of over 40 million people. Climate Cool offers an innovative and creative approach to raising understanding of climate change and encouraging action to tackle it. |

CYCAN是 China Youth Climate Action Network 的简称,中文名为中国青年应对气候变化行动网络。成立于 2007年8 月,由活跃在中国七个不同的青年环境组织结合各自应对气候变化的优势资源组合而成。 CYCAN 关注全球气候变化以及中国青年在此领域所能发挥的重要作用,希望能够引领中国青年开展切实的行动应对气候变化;以开设应对气候变化行动网络平台为契机,寻求中国青年开展此类项目的新模式,并科学推广有关气候变化的项目;到 2012年以试点高校减排20% 的目标和实际行动,推动资源节约型校园建设及国家节能减排的目标。
CYCAN, the China Youth Climate Action Network, was established in August 2007 to coordinate youth climate initiatives in China. The Network integrates resources from seven leading youth environmental organizations and serves as an umbrella group for over 200 universities around the country. By providing a platform for Chinese youth to learn about climate change issues, share solutions and take actions, we are seeking a new home-grown model of spreading awareness and advancing climate activities. CYCAN aims at a 20% reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in 40 pilot Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) by 2012, thereby promoting the national energy saving and emissions reduction objectives. |

《绿色空间》栏目依据中央的环境保护决策,在国人的环境保护意识出现逆转的背景之下,努力将现实中的真实环境状况,包括文明与野蛮,先进与落后,美与丑,经验与教训及时准确传递给观众,实现人类社会的一个共同的环境价值观,即保护地球资源,善待自然界的所有生命,维系人类社会的健康延续。
《绿色空间》栏目用敏锐的眼光捕捉自然界各种生命之间的相互关系,用清醒的头脑去判断我们身边所发生的与资源和环境相关事件。栏目将以一种发掘事实真相,讲述精彩故事的方式,定制每一期节目。在表现自然界的美好画面的同时,也展示本不该出现的地球创伤的景象。

Green Space, broadcast at 7:37 pm every day, is the only environment-featured CCTV program on the science and education channel.
As Chinese people’s environmental awareness has not grown much against the increasing environmental concerns, Green Space attempts to build a common environmental value, that is to protect the resources on earth, treat all the living with care and maintain the sustainable development of the human being by reflecting the truth of the environment.
Green space captures the interrelations between various living forms with sharp insight and makes clear judgement on the things related to the resources and environment. Exploration of the truth and elaboration of each story is the program’s feature. The program not only presents a beautiful sight of the nature, it also tells the audience what the world would be like if damages to the earth had not been done

中国绿色碳基金设在中国绿化基金会下,属于全国性公募基金,立足中国,面向世界。基金先期由中国石油注资人民币3亿元,主要用于通过植树造林吸收二氧化碳,为减少大气中温室气体浓度做贡献。据专家估算,这些捐款用于造林后,在今后十年内将吸收500-1000万吨二氧化碳。中国绿色碳基金的发起方还有嘉汉林业(中国)投资有限公司、美国大自然保护协会和保护国际。成立于2007年7月20日。
应对全球气候变化,是社会的责任,是文明的呼唤,更是人类共同的期盼,需要企业主体的广泛参与和积极行动。这不仅有利于个人、社会和国家,更有利于企业展现社会责任,树立企业发展回馈社会、服务社会、造福社会的良好形象,赢得社会更多的赞同和更大的尊敬,完全符合企业自身的长远发展。
建立中国绿色碳基金,旨在为企业通过自愿开展林业碳汇活动和参与应对气候变化行动搭建平台。这是国家林业主管部门在新形势下,落实《中共中央国务院关于加快林业发展的决定》,动员社会力量加快我国生态建设,构建国家生态安全的重要举措,对建设资源节约型、环境友好型和低耗能、低排放社会具有十分重要的意义。同时也将进一步向国际社会展示中国负责任的大国形象,为应对全球气候变化做出新的更大的贡献。
截至2009年10月,已有以中国石油天然气集团公司为首的十几家企业,捐资3亿多元人民币,先后在全国十多个省区陆续开展了以吸收二氧化碳为主要目的的造林活动,目前已经完成造林100多万亩。此外,捐资给中国绿色碳基金造林的个人也相当踊跃。据统计,目前共有700多人次捐资逾60万元人民币参与了中国绿色碳基金的碳补偿行动——即以吸收二氧化碳、减缓气候变暖为主要目的北京八达岭地区碳汇造林项目。
